The 4.0 Priest changes were announced today, and my favorite announcement was for the Holy tree. In order to make Holy more versatile, they are adding a mechanic called "Chakra". Basically, Chakra puts you "in the zone" after casting certain spells 3 times in a row. Are you tank healing? Cast three G Heals and you get a bonus to your single-target healing. Cast 3 PoH back-to-back, and you get a boost to your AE healing. No one is taking damage? Cast three Smites and get a temporary DPS boost. They are going to incorporate Chakra in the UI, so you should be able to track how close you are to your bonus.

It's interesting mechanics like this that make me look forward to another 2 years of WoW.

Sounds like an extension of the Serendipity talent, which I've used maybe 3 times since I got it.

CoH CD is so long, I can't see casting it only 3 times back to back, and I don't use PoH all that often. Certainly not often enough to see tons of procs for it. Mayby with the changes to pallys we won't get shoved out of tank healing as often, and it's not set in stone so I'm hoping they toss us a bit more.

They really aren't throwing us much of a bone. Everyone gets dispel magic, we get... oh yeah. Nothing.

I may be looking at Chakra differently than everyone else, but I am excited about it.

Today, you can spec Holy for AE healing or Disc for single-target healing. With Chakra, you get a bonus to whichever you are doing.

I doubt that you will have to cast the same exact spell three times in a row to trigger it. It will probably be three of the same type of spell, like a Circle of Healing, followed by a Prayer of healing and another Circle of Healing. Or a Flash Heal and two Heals, or something like that.
