That easy, eh? Unless Muad is there pulling aggro... =P
I'll get some practice in this weekend, not just with the tanking but with the yelling at dps who give me no lead time and start off with 6k burst dps. They'll learn when they die, right? ;)
/cast MD
/dump 6k DPS worth of threat on rookie pally tank
rookie loses threat
/FD
/rookie does that silly hammer thing to get baddie back
I see no problems from this DPS view
Keycat lvl 80 hunter 450 lw
Keester lvl 80 DK (coming to raid near you soon)
Keecat lvl 61 rogue (on vacation)
Keelock lvl 49 Lock (now a bank toon)
7 others that you really need not know about on this server alone

Yes.... Muad mirrored what I said, but in his very elegant and polite style.
You're making me Lazy. You won't like me when I'm Lazy!

yeah, thrair's got the right idea. just get in there and practice. being aware of your surroundings and taunting mobs quickly is more important than nailing the optimal threat rotation.
I have my taunts tied to mouseover macros. I like to be able to mouseover a friendly target that has aggro (their unit frame gets colored red in my ui) and use Righteous Defense:
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,help] Righteous Defense; Righteous Defense
(so cast on a friendly mouseover target if there is one, otherwise cast on your current target)
and it's nice to be able to mouseover an enemy target and cast without changing your current target also:
#showtooltip
/cast [target=mouseover, harm] Hand of Reckoning; Hand of Reckoning
the maximum threat rotation for most fights is to alternate between a spell/ability you will cast every 6 seconds (HotR, SoR) and one that you cast every 9 seconds (Holy Shield, Judgement, Consecration). that way you're always doing something every cooldown. you can substitute Hammer of Wrath for consecration or holy shield late in fights. I usually cast divine plea and then holy shield just before the pull so I don't have to waste those gcds when I'm trying to build threat at the start of the pull. starting with a hand or reckoning followed by avenger's shield can help on pulls that are spread out and/or contain casters. if you pull fast enough you can keep your divine plea up. when that's not possible, get mira to make you some mage food =p
if you're going to be running a lot of 5 mans you can pick up Seal of Command in the ret tree. it's a cleave like effect so it's *very* nice for aoe/trash pulls. if there are multiple mobs, and the mobs die relatively quickly (< 30-40 secs. or so), you'll do more damage/threat with Seal of Command vs. Seal of Vengeance.
the site I linked earlier in this thread (maintankadin) is still active and is a great resource.
I don't really like this because it's not as flexible as having a separate binding for each ability, but I know some people use it.

So Lamira has become a little tanking machine, successfully tanked Heroic ToC with a guild group and Heroic FoS with an all-random (and nobody complained and nobody died!), and several other easier heroics as well. I'm getting the experience part down, but what stats do I need to be able to start tanking raids?
Nvm, found a post in The War Room that gives tanking stat levels for raids.
Get familiar with the 96969 rotation. I think that most pallys put the priorities in different order, but follow the same basic principle.
I set up two macros, one that cycles through the 6 second spells, and one that cycles through the 9 second spells. For most of the fights, I just press, 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2, ect.. and it cycles through my 96969 rotation. The downside to this is that it prevents you from being quite as flexible in wierd situations. For example, when you are single target tanking, and mana is a factor, then Consecration is very wasteful. My solution is to put Consecration as the second in my 9 second rotation, and put a 9 second reset on the macro, so that when single target tanking, I can just hit 1,2,1, pause, 1,2,1, pause. I find that I can usually out aggro a party with similar level gear easily even without the extra two spells that get skipped.
When I log on later I'll get the exact macros that I use for button 1 and button 2, I'll also get my mouse over macro that I use for taunting loose mobs.
I'd be happy to help if I'm on with Mareo, I can dps and give tips.
